MaxIQ Space has developed a modular electronics kit, ideal for university and college courses.

With the MK11 kit you can build multiple experiments and flight payloads, all leveraging IoT, digital, and remote sensing concepts.

Invoices and Purchase Orders:

If your institution is based in the USA, and would like us to register on your supply chain, or prefers to pay using EFT or check, please mail admin@maxiq.space, and we can arrange that for you.

MaxIQ is a Virginia, USA corporation, managing the logistics of practical yet virtual modular electronics projects and workshops.

Additional Workshops, Alternative Time Zones:

We deliver frequent workshops relating to this kit, at least once a quarter. As a global team, we offer alternative times for the workshops to accommodate everyone across the globe. Please mail admin@maxiq.space to discuss the options available. For customised workshops, please see the options available.

With this kit you can collect data...

  • with all the convenience of xChips - no soldering, wiring, breadboarding or lab equipment needed
  • requiring no electronics or hardware knowledge
  • providing a much cheaper and more accessible way of building a remote sensing instruments
  • with easy availability, allowing you to avoid long lead times
  • Sample Arduino code to get going fast

Kit contents:

  • 1 x Extended ESP32 Core with SD card interface and extension connectors. This core can be coded with Arduino, Python, C C++
  • 1 x rechargeable battery pack
  • 1 x USB power and programming interface
  • 1 x Weather sensor for temperature and relative humidity
  • 1 x Barometer for atmospheric pressure (and temperature for chip calibration)
  • 1 x Accelerometer with axes X, Y and Z. The data can be converted to present pitch, yaw, roll and g-force
  • 1 x Light sensor for visible light and UV index
  • 1 x GPS or GNSS navigation and location sensor
  • 1 x LoRa radio and antenna set (TinyGS compatible)
  • 16 standard 10 pin connectors
  • Selection of prototype and extension boards for you to add your own sensors
  • 1 x OLED display (for configuration not flight or harsh conditions)

A subset of these components can be configured as a TinyGS ground station, everyone purchasing this kit will be included in the TinyGS workshops at no extra cost.

How it works:

Please watch this "Getting Started Guide" video.

We continuously develop Arduino libraries for the components in this kit so that you can get started fast (Github). The guide recommends that you begin with the weather station application to understand the sensors, move on the the TinyGS ground station build to understand the radio communication and power requirements, and end with developing your own code for various IoT and remote sensing applications.

This kit will build your engineering and trouble-shooting skills, it is one of our most complex kits and we do not hold your hand through this.

The MaxIQ MQTT server delivers data to a Kibana dashboard to efficient remote sensing.

We provide 3D print files for enclosures and frames, and recommend suppliers for aluminium fabrication.

Launch Opportunities:

MaxIQ has secured multiple launch opportunities, all the way from model rocket tests  to projects on the International Space Station. Please look at this page for more detail.

Our Partners

Changing the world isn't easy, and we couldn't do it alone.

A core value of MaxIQ is to be able to provide our educational resources to students around the globe, especially those who live in areas where there is a lack of educational infrastructure to support these young minds in achieving their full potential. MaxIQ wouldn't be able to fulfil our mission without support from...
