The STEM Environment Monitoring Kit (XK07) includes all the components you need to build both a “FlatSat” or “Flight Station” (which can be moved in the environment, including being flown on balloons or drones), and a Ground Station, to receive and display data and share it (via Wi-Fi) with the Internet of Things.

This kit comes with ready to load Arduino code for an indoor environment monitor, plus access to a free data dashboard and MQTT server to send your data to the cloud. XinaBox’s CW01 xChip is Microsoft Azure approved, so connection to the cloud is guaranteed to be quick and easy!

Everything you need to know to get your kit up and running is on this help page.

In the box you will find five xChip sensors: one for VOC and eCO2, one for 9DoF, one for UVA, UVB and light, one for geotagging / navigation, and one for temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure. You will also find two Wi-Fi Cores (ESP8266/ESP-12F), a Core with SD Card Interface, a mini-OLED display, two LoRa with ATmega328P Cores, a dual AA battery power pack, two packs of connectors, two antenna monopoles, and a programming interface (which also acts as a USB power source).

* Note: The XK07 includes either the RL02 or RL03 LoRa Radio xChip.  They both work exactly the same, and the specific version included in your kit will depend on your location:

  • The RL02 is for ITU Region 1 (EMEA). Frequency 868 MHz.
  • The RL03 is for ITU Region 2 (The Americas). Frequency 915 MHz.
